Sidestand switch 84 GPZ
29 Jan 2007 01:37
So I cut off my side stand switch cause it was stuck and still giving me the flashing light, driving me crazy. Find I have 3 wires: green, brown, black. My manual only shows 2 wires, like for a "normal" switch.
Anyone able to tell me why would be nice. Thanks.
Louie

you may have a starter interlock series ground that includes the neutral switch.
my book is like yours for that model but I have a liquid cooled 750 R ninja book showing a 3 wire interlock system at the sidestand switch-- the wire colors are different
I know on the 2 wire set up hooking them together stops the blinking
I believe that hooking two together and isolating the third is the ticket but which is which is the 100$ question isn't it?

My '85 only has 2, and I've looped them together to shut off that light. Only left the sidestand down twice.
I looked up the ZX750 on www.buykawasaki.com and the '83(ZX750-A1) and '84(ZX750-A2) are both a 2-Wire Switch like that on my bike(ZX550-A2). Same part number too. 27010-1065

Neat, wonder why mine has 3. I need to pull off the cover and trace those wires around. Wasn't a squidly hack job, looks very factory.
Thanks guys for the insights.
