The Dyna S is a totally self contained unit ie: no external ignitors. Pretty simple to set up to, a good move if your stock stuff is giving you trouble:evil:

best to all,

Which 550 do you have? In 81, the D (gpz) and C (ltd) had ignitors and 2.5 ohm coils, I think. The 81 A (standard) had points and 4 ohm coils. The Dyna-S is more suitable with the 4 ohm coils. Dyna doesn't recommend using the S with coils less than 3 ohms.

At least one member reports the Dyna S works ok with the 2.5 ohm coils, Dyna just doesn't recommend it.
