Coil question
27 Dec 2006 22:21
Was doing the coil repower on my 900 and have a question about the coils. The PO had put on a later model elec. ignition off a kz1000. When doing the coil repower I noticed that the positive power wire is hooked up to the negative side of the coils and not the positive side? But it still runs fine as is. Is this correct? Can't tell from wiring diagrams.

Coils don't really have a polarity, if that's what you're asking.
But if something other than the electronic ignition is connected to the coil, it should be connected on the 12v side of the coil. The switched (ignitor) side of the coil should only go to the ignitor.
