I figured that if there's a stumble off idle that could be fixed (in the case of pods running lean) by upsizing the pilot jets and then fine tuning it with the fuel mixture screws? Does the air corrector just make this easier or does it accomplish something that wouldn't be otherwise possible?

There are no air correction jets for Keihin carbs.  Gotta do it the old-fashioned way, or install an airbox (preferred)
