This is what it looks like need to make sure the weights move freely. What your describing is a lean condition. You need to check for air leaks, float levels. Clear carbs.

Ok cook thanks ill try to get into the garage tonight. It does sound like a air leak but have no idea where its coming from just replaced both sets of boots and the carbs were cleaned earlier. Just took them back apart and checked the pilot plugs in the float bowls and pilot holes.  I guess i could take them back off and check float levels but they were pretty close and even after rebuild

There is no need to take the carburetors off to check the fuel levels. The float height measurement is only to get them in the ballpark to start the engine. The important measurement is the fuel level in each carb. Even with the floats at the same height, there can be small but important differences in he actual level of the fuel. The procedure is described on page 156 of the KZ750E1 & H1 service manual.

Thanks for posting TexasKz

Pages 46-50 mentions a couple of things that will cause high idle and 150-157 cover the carbs fuel levels
