Well i have 2 broken prime jets.. #65 i believe. and the tabs on either side that you slide the screwdriver into and turn are broken off. will this cause a fuel problem? these parts are no longer available. im thinking of going to buy these carbs from the moto place just so i have extra carb parts.

For $100, all rebuilt and working diaphragms, thats not a bad price at all. I sold my parts set on ebay that were gummed up for $50, and they only had 3 good diaphragms.

I used Elmers probond glue to plug my small holes...they were pin sized, not tears. It worked well, but is a band aid at best.

As for jets, look here
www.z1enterprises.com/SearchResult.aspx?...eyWords=keihin%20jet

The keihin main jet is used on a ton of bikes, some of them newer. My 93 shadow, my friends 93 vulcan and another friends 2009 KLR. I think the pilots you are SOL on getting new. Those plugs are important too...you could try using a rubber stopper or wrapping them in teflon tape, but I just found a set of 4 that held tight.

I think parts are more available for the BS34's, and you'll find alot of people arguing both pros and cons for them.

Like I said, if these carbs from the yard are clean and have the diaphragms and plastic plugs, $100 is a good deal. Plus then you'll have spare diaphragms, which will come in handy. I was always very careful with mine too... I always took them out when using carb cleaner or air, just in case I did something wrong that would damage them. If you buy anything from Z1, I'd go ahead a pick up a set of the carb bowl o-rings too. Mine leaked after a while, plus its nice to have a spare set because whenever I took mine out, they swelled up and were impossible to get back in! I had to let them dry overnight to shrink back up.

There is a member here by the name JR that has alot of info about these carbs too. If you look at some of my older posts you can see some of the conversation I had with him.

As for cleaning the pilot passages, it's a bitch. I used a friend so you can plug multiple holes at once with the use of extra hands. I also would recommend an air gun for your air compressor that has a rubber tip so you can ensure you get a good seal when shooting air in there. Mine was a harbor frieght one, so it was really cheap but worked well.
