There is a guy on here who swears by the BS34's and said he got them to run perfectly with pods. But I haven't seen Otto (otakar) post in quite a while either. Just balancing the statements. Many people hate them, those that like them love them. It's a horse a piece.

I have an article from MOTORRAD when they tested various systems on a Katana 1100 some 30 years ago. The results weren't promising. I'll see if I can dig it out.

ramtough_63 wrote: The topic of pods vs airbox comes up frequently on here, you will have to understand the question of which is better? is subjective.

It all boils down to your preference and application.

as for as your carb problem I am just learning so I am not the go to person on this but, I will throw this out there.

before condemming the carbs or assuming no gas is entering by way of plugs arent wet do some checking.

making sure you have spark etc..

yes its getting spark ok, carbs fill up with gas but none delivered into cyclinders so just going to clean carbs and see if thats it, any tips or concerns when cleaning this type of carb or is it pretty straight forward?

Patton has a great diagram for cleaning passages in the carbs. Maybe he can post it before I find a link for you.

fit a dyno-jet stage 3 kit n itll run as sweet as a nut .. but dont buy cheap pods as they are crap n bike wont run right as theyre 55mm to fit carbs but the way theyre made they reduce the hole to abot 35mm buy gen k+n or s+b filters

Z1Enterprises.com has the airbox ducts. good service & fast shipping.

Or the Kaw dealer should have them, if that's more convenient.

I think these are the ones you want...but I'm surprised that the BS34's wouldn't have different airbox hoses - you may want to consult with Z1E - they have great people/customer service and good prices.

They'll cost you less than *good* pod filters.

Thanks - wasn't sure which one was "CSR" in the list, must have missed it. Those look more like what I would have expected.

No. Pod filters are not better than your airbox.
