PVC Airbox w/ pods
01 Oct 2011 16:38
Spent $15 on the piping for this new airbox type of thing. Something I came across, even though it may not be necessary to install, was a valve. So at the opening, just put another pipe that has an adjustable valve. This will change the amount of air coming through is there's too much because of the new pods. Might not look all that great, but would sure get the job done without adjusting carbs. Could adjust the amount of air coming through if you go from a high elevation to low also if your carbs are set up for higher areas.
No cutting needed. Fit all together like it was made for the carbs

Whoa... Well have to give you some kudos on ingenuity....
Round filter in the end pipes?
Once you get the valves working, take this prototype to a metal shop/machinist and have these puppies made with aluminum tubing...

looks cool , i had a similar idea . mine used 4 tees with short lengths in between and where they go into boot for hose clamps. these carbs seem to function better when drawing from same air mass , sort of like a 4 into 1 , not a 4 into 2 with no crossover tube. with useing only 2 pod filters you may not have to re jet. i used 2 single barrel filters for cars , mine worked great after i drilled 4 , quarter inch holes around the exhaust end plate that holds the baffle in . sounded bad ass , not too loud . ran great

With the additional weight of the filters, won't this thing need some support to keep from falling off or cracking the intake manifolds?
