its difficult to tell from that photo cos its too small. But it should have Mikuni VM24's on it.

Only the 650 B2A and D1A were fitted with Mikuni VM22's by Kawasaki as std kit
It is always wise to double check and Martins method will work to make sure.
Anything could have happened after this length of time of course and the bike could have been fitted with 22, 24 or even 26's. If they are still the original set - they will be VM24's

went to local bike shop he said $60 per carb plus kit and will sync when done but he is 4 weeks out so I think I will clean them myself and hope they work and then do them over the winter. I really would like to get it running and ride it so I know what ive got before spending about 500 bucks on all the goodies. He also said in 27 years he had never seen a jap coil go bad but one of mine is sending juice straight through.

Welcome. You are right to clean them yourself. Just clean the best you can. When you remove the float needles take a Q tip and brasso or some similar product and clean the seats with the Q tip dipped in brasso.
I had some friends in my shop 10 days ago and the bike we were working on was leaking gas through the overflows.
I removed the needles and seat and gave them to the owner and told him to spin the Q tip one hundred times for each seat. Problem cured. Roy

I started cleaning today and they were very dirty nearly every jet and orfice plugged. I have done several outboard carbs so I can do it. I also use Q tips on outboard carbs they are bad to stick shut thought it was strange as dirty as they were the seats were the only things clean and no needles were stuck. A coil and the carbs together and maybe a test drive by weekend? is there any value to fairing that came on it its in good pretty shape?

Have enjoyed success with this cleaning method:
Fairing would likely have value.
But shipping expense may chill a sale, especially with a larger heavy fairing such as Vetter.
Could post a pic of the fairing with pricing and general location, and perhaps someone nearby may be interested.
Good Fortune!
