Carbs leaking LOTS of gas
11 May 2011 03:45 - 12 May 2011 23:31
I know of the drain screw for the carbs, and I used that after cleaning my carbs, but after I tightened them to stop the leak it just kept going and going. It's tightened all the way and it's just pouring out? I tried the search but didn't see anything.
ps. The bike hasn't ran yet and it pours out when the bikes off
Carb problem. Videos attached

if its leaking from the drain screws on bottem of carbs there should either be a gasket or an o ring depending on which carbs you have
got a picture of the carbs, what model of bike?
im getting too old to remember what everybody else rides, cant remember what i rode/drove in on most days!

Sounds like the overflow - that would be a sticking float valve or improper float height.

While engine idles (and fuel discharging from overflow hoses) ---
Rap smartly against sides of float bowls, using a plastic mallet or large screw driver handle.
Sometime helps freshly cleaned float valves to get fully seated, and often without future leakage.
Good Fortune!

The diagram posted by 650ed doesn't show an overflow circuit on the oem carbs.
With overflow circuits, there are usually four drain hoses attached to the nipples at bottoms of float bowls, and the four drain hoses are routed to exit underneath the bike.

What rubber hose?
The diagram posted by 650ed doesn't show an overflow circuit on the oem carbs.
Is there a nipple protruding downward from the bottom of each carb float bowl?

Yea, the hoses that run underneath the bike. And it's a 440 so there are only two.
I'm trying to think of what I did wrong so I'm just gonna take apart the carbs again I guess
