29mm smoothbores?!? $125

Please help. I think I may have just found the steal of a lifetime. I found a guy selling his '79 LTD 1000 and it came with 2 sets of "spare" carbs. I have pictures of what I believe are a set of PERFECT VINTAGE 29mm smoothbore Mikuni's. The seller has no idea what he has and said he'd take $125 cash. I compared with the guide on Z1E and I'm sold...2nd opinions, please??

hell if they're legit snag 'em up. Check for broken jet blocks if you can before you buy them. and keep in mind they don't make them anymore so you have to find them used or find someone to fix them if they're fawked up.

a closeup would be better but I dont see an overflow so that one good sign
still they could be suspect, look closely for a white corrosion that cannot be fixed

the smootbores will be a lot lighter than the other set since theyre aluminum, pick both sets up youll know.
the drain screws on bottem of bowls are not a 100% way of spotting 29s,both styles of float bowls in that picture fit the 29s B)

you're right about the drain screws but the 29s dont have an overflow and the 28's do correct ????

i cant remember about the drain ,without driving 30 miles and taking a look!
the float bowl swap was common back in the day to make 29s look more like 26s to the untrained eye.
me and wg had a bet about the float bowls way back, still waiting on my texas steak!
