anybody try this jetkit?

I have been looking for a lower priced alternative to dynojet. This is almost 50 dollars less money, but are they any good? I realize I can rejet my carbs for less than 79$ but these jet kits include the slide needle modification instructions etc. which I would not know how to do.I don;t mind spending the money on a kit like this if it will make my life easier.

there are a few negative feedbacks, and they all say to get a dynojet instead..

I have, and Chris sent me a carb tuning 101 tuorial. The issue is that Z1 and any other source for jets I have found sells main and pilot jets, but nothing for the needle jets and jet needles.

Also, from bike forums one big recurring theme is carb jetting woes...I figure spending some more money is worth the savings in potential headaches.

EDIT: I have a Canadian bike, so my BS34's have the adjustable jet needle. Would adjusting this and swapping out main and pilot jets be the same as what a jet kit offers? I don't want to spend the money if it's the same as what I mentioned above, but if the kits are good (dynojet or otherwise) I don't mind spending it.

Attachment carb.doc not found

Here is the carb jetting section from my manual. As I said I have a non-us bike, so I have a different jet needle. I have an LTD (K model) so originally my bike came with 122.5 mains. I have put on J cams, so should I use 127.5 mains as my basline from which to add jet sizes from? (ie. should I use 135 mains, or 130 mains)? Also, what does one do with the pilot air jet, main air jet and starter jet? it also looks like I am going to have to swap out needle jet for a J needle jet...all these tings make me want to get a dynojet kit because I have never dealt with carbs before.

I run the BS34's on my stock engine. It is a MarkII 1000cc.

I mostly run open headers and the gearing is lower than stock.

Mine is jetted 40/140. It is a little rich for riding in town but is fine for the open road.

With a adjustable needle i would raise the clip one position at a time to see if that helps.

What kind of filter and exhaust do you run? Roy

I have a 4-1 that currently has no baffle, and a set of APE pods. I find most people on here and other sites just adjust the main and pilot jets, and turn the air screw out a bit...I have never done this but it almost seems to easy...THe J and K have different needle jets, would I need to change them out as well?

I would just start by Going up on the jets and raise the needle.

Those jets seem real small I personally would go 40 on the idle.

The main jet,i don't know.

I think i have a set of carbs off a stock "J" engine and the mains are 137.5 or something like that.It might be 127.

There will be some more input later on in the day.

The jets are cheap. About four bucks each i think for the mains.

The idle is cheaper than that. Roy

in the file i attached it says the J main is 127.5. I just don't want flat spots in the powerband

With pods and header i would imagine those jets were way too small.

That is the size jet i use on 28mm carbs. Roy

ran k and n pods thats it....i bought mine all rebuilt and slapped em on....i did have one small issue with a little stutter at high rpm s if ya really nailed it hard as you could.....some say they need mods done to run 100% some guys have good luck without the mods.this would be due to the fact the constant velocities need lots o' vacuum to work properly and an airbox provides that , whereas pods dont..you should be able to get yours pretty close as you have an adjustable needle......i m not sure, but i think some came with adj needle and some didnt.....
