Check the vaccume line from the petcock to the carbs for cracks and make sure it is seated properly on the nipple.
Are you sure that the vaccume line is connected to the right port and not the vent nipple.

Re: Carb issues again

Ok, so here is the latest. So I benched synced the carbs again to spec's and was going to install them. First I thought i better check the jets sizes again to be sure.
So This is where I need some "expert" advise. So before all the problems started as previously mentioned above, I had old pods that were toast and headers and slipons with a 2" pipe from the collector to the slipon about a foot long between. So with the old pods everything ran fine, lot's of power no bogging or flat spots ran as it should. So I checked the jetting last night which was with the old pods and it has 17.5 pilots and 115 mains. So with the new filters and sync nothing, bike ran like shit. So I've gotten 122.5 mains to replace the 115. I thought they were 118's but I guess with age I don't see as well.....So my question is, with the bigger mains will I have to move the clip on the needle also or will putting bigger mains in and sync be enough?
I'm still trying to figure the whole carb thing out so bear with me..
Thanks again for all the input so far.

Hope this helps...
Jetting/fuel delivery, is governed primarily by the throttle position.
Having larger Mains really only helps the last 3rd or so of the throttle range. I can say from experience that max speed/hp and high revs are what are benefit by the Main.
Good Luck.

Lowering the needle clip position will raise the jet needle higher inside the throttle slide, whereby a smaller section of the taper interacts with the needle jet, which allows more fuel at mouth of the jet, and results in richer mid-range carb performance.
Good Luck!
