I have seen a few photos of the mods Kaw racers used to make to the cases and they are extensive. You wouldn't recognize them. They tried all kinds of things to make the cases stronger but NHRA won't let them run aftermarket cases and they can't make them rigid enough to hold the crank and parts rigid enough without too much flex. GS cases are in same boat but they are stronger and get by. Muzzy tried to make the ZX14 viable for pro-stock but NHRA wouldn't allow the mods they needed to those motors to make them strong enough either. NHRA basically says that Suzuki and Kawasaki have to use factory parts but the Buell's and especially the Harleys can use billet motors...

1980 LTD (changed over the years), 1979 LTD (being rebuilt), 1977 KZ turbo and various KZ's in various states of build. KLX110

NHRA is one f'kd up organization IMO. It's corporate money driving everything in this country today including racing rules....aka Harley Davidson for example. I rarely even watch NHRA drag racing anymore Larry C.
