Wookie, yes Lucas, the prince of darkness. Plus that weird you brits thought up, Positive ground, ha.
Most U.S. cars were positive ground until the mid to late 1950s. I seem to remember a model or two hanging on into the 1960s.

That is correct Scotty (with British cars at least) and generally coincided with the change from "Dynamo" to "Alternator"
