Spark Plug Thread Repair Tool

Never heard of it but looks like a good idea. Anybody ever use one?

They've been around for donkeys years.

Then why was I just informed of this so called "back tap"? 

I never heard of it either !  Once again, the wife is mistaken - turns out I do not have every tool I'll ever need.      Gonna order one tomorrow (after checking with a couple of buddies to see how many to order)

—-> It’s a good idea to buy one to have on hand so that you never actually need it.
 

I've had one of those for years. It's effectively a reverse thread chaser. 
It'll clean a thread of debris but it won't repair a worn or damaged thread in much the same way a new bolt wouldn't. Because it cleans as you unscrew it it brings the debris out with it instead of allowing it to fall into the cylinder.

Bought one about 3 weeks ago. Haven’t used it yet.
