Hey guys I just wanted to share this interesting 1/2 inch ratchet that I picked up for £18 I dont know anything about blackhawk and I'm blown away that its gearless cos I thought that was quite recent tech! It works beautifully and it's pretty heavy although the handle is hollow, I wonder if something went inside or did it simply have a bung in there once? 
the seller said it's from 1943, i assume some of the many numbers on it indicate the date because I cant see one.....anyhoo I like it and find it interesting, can you guys tell me any more about blackhawk and this ratchet?

    Looks like patent numbers.  You might want to do a google search on them.  There are archives of a lot of old patent info which will provide some insight into that wrench.
