Friction drilling

Went down a youtube rabbit hole and ran across this. This is basically what I get when I'm too lazy to replace a worn out drill bit.

Interesting! I wonder if my drill press could use that type of tooling? And, is there a smaller tool...like, how would it work for metal screws such as 6-32 through 10-32, etc...?
