Parts cross reference

I've noticed on some posts that people list cross reference parts which work on other models. I can't seem to find where this cross referencing is done. Is it on Kawasaki's website? Is it another resource?

Lots of good info on kawasaki.com, including parts diagrams, part numbers, models sharing same part, availability, etc.
Here's a link for help with navigating the site and finding information.

They don't list this view on Kawasaki.com for some reason, or maybe I just can't find it. But the part number I'm looking, from that exploded view, is 16031-031 which is a float but it doesn't cross match with any KZ650 B models. I'm assuming the B1/2/3 models all share the same float.

Thanks for the link Patton, it's much appreciated. The cross reference seemed a little odd to me. I had saved a post from an older thread which you had listed the exploded view of a KZ650B2 carb..

Perhaps one of these might do.
Don't know why kawasaki.com discontinued showing the individual KZ650 carb parts diagrams, and are now only showing the complete assembly.
Would also inquire at Z1E, and even check with a Kawasaki dealership as the part might still be available.

I just now checked and see that Bike Bandit and Babbits still show the full KX650-B1 carb parts diagram and specific part numbers.
Navigating to the desired diagram on these sites is a little different than the procedure on kawasaki.com.
Each site has its own peculiar system for locating diagrams, individual parts, etc.
There may also be other sites that show these diagrams or similar information.

(1) The Kawasaki parts diagrams are not gospel, they are sometimes wrong.
(2) The cross reference only shows you what models use the identical part number, not what models share functionally identical parts. Any change at all, no matter how minor, requires a new part number.
Still comes in handy though

but the OEM part number is 16031-023/16031-007. I punched both those part numbers in Kawasaki.com and check the cross reference and neither of those part numbers show up as for my bike. But mind you I also enter 16031-031 which I know is for my 650 but when I click on the cross reference it doesn't list a KZ650 at all. So I'm a little confused. I guess the short of it is that I would rather buy the equivalent floats from Z1 at a very affordable price rather then purchasing the OEM from A dealer at a ridiculous price. I did email Z1 to find out about the floats for certain, but I just wanted to know for future reference and I'm sure I'll run into this problem with parts in the future.

Hi Folks,
I've noticed on some posts that people list cross reference parts which work on other models. I can't seem to find where this cross referencing is done. Is it on Kawasaki's website? Is it another resource?
I use Steve Zedder's "All Kawasaki Parts Cross Reference."
My latest use of this fine software was to find out which kz650s have the same seat as my 1981 Kz650 'CSR'. I found out that the 1981, '82 and '83 Kz650 'CSR' bikes and the 1981, 1982 and 1983 Kz750 'LTD' bikes use the exact same seat.
Am I still without a seat? You betcha. You aint lived till you rode a 65hp road burning monster with a little rubber patch and slippery plastic bottom that slides around on the upper frame rails when you hit the gas.
This one is my road burner, the seat there is going to play a joke on me if I keep riding and a correct seat dont come along I will go sliding off the back frame rails now:
Anyway, you can find Zedder's product at:
www.zedder.com/
Cheap too. Man has this cross-reference come in handy.
p.s. got a line on a seat fits the bikes above? lemme know and thank-you.
