Hospital IV stands are VERY useful in the garage.
I use mine to hold auxillary gas tanks, vacuum gauges, even my test meter (which now has a zip-tie loop on it...).
The curly hooks on the top, the adjustible height, the heavy base of free moving wheels, just make it a constantly used item in my garage. You can find them on ebay or craigslist for $10-$25

Good timing! I was sitting in my garage this AM, thinking that an IV stand would be very useful for just such things...I work in a medical school...I think I'll snag one (legally, of course!)

Sometimes when working in the garage I need an IV bag for a quick drip. The stand would be an awesome addition.

If you get to choose the IV stand, select one with 5 wheels rather than 4 - they are a little more stable.
For the top, 2 curly hooks or 4 - more is better. I leave my auxillary fuel tank and mercury stix permanently on one IV stand, and then I have more hooks for an test meter or anything else to hand up.
They also double as a coat hanger for my leather jacket...
