Can anyone please tell me what do I do with the main air hose once I add pod filters to my 650? I have already added a crank case breather filter, but there is still the hose that runs right below the gas taknk above the carbs and connects into the side of the stock air box. Any suggestions?

that would be from the smog gizmo (technical term:laugh: ) you can get rid of this stuff, and it might even make the bike run better if the emissions stuff wasnt working properly. you can take all the stuff off of the valve cover and then put on block off plates, or just connect the 2 "holes" coming out of the top of the valve cover with a single piece of hose.
there have been lots of write ups about this very thing, do a search here for emmissions, smog head ect...

Bought my 650 new in 1980 and emissions were off by 82, bike has run perfect since. Basically an air pump I believe. Will affect nothing when removed...but make sure you also cap off vacuum lines at carbs...

it just lets fresh air into the exhaust to either help burn any remaining gasses, or just "water down" the fumes to help it run "cleaner"

Naaaaaa I got that on my 78 SR650 also. I dont really see how it works at the reed valves, but I am not asking anymore questions. I got enough trouble on my hands with my engine's head.
