I was looking at KZer's 77 Kz650 B engine. Will it fit into my 80 Kz550 A without any mods?

I dont think it would be a bolt in mod, the 650 motor is wider(at least the cylinder spacing is anyway), would probably work with some custom motor mounts. same as the 1000/1100 in a 650/750 idea (been done)

Does anyone know the width of a 77 650 b engine at the mounts? I'll shoot KZer an email.

I got a few measurements for you from my 650 frame and motor, hope they help
distance between top front motor mounts=25cm
distance between bottom front motor mounts=25cm
distance between top rear motor mounts=23.5cm
distance between bottom rear motor mounts=18cm
center to center of hole of front motor mounts=14.5cm
center to center of hole of rear motor mounts=19.5cm
center to center of hole of top motor mounts=38.5cm
center to center of hole of bottom motor mounts=35.5cm
width of cylinder block=41.5cm
width of cylinder head=43cm
these were measured with a metre stick, they should be fairly accurate, at most a 1/4 of a cm out I would think. at least it will give you an idea of how much custom work will be needed to get the mounts where they should be
