Anyone have a problem with a flat spot at mid rpm wot after installing a header?Could it be the baffle size or lack of? I heard some old pipes did this.So Im wondering if my flat spot may be my Kerker.I had it with my vm29's,and still with my 33's.

I have had Kerkers on 2 different KZ650s and never had any trouble. One had pods and the other didn't.

I had a flat spot around 5grand with my Supertrapp exhaust - when its dialed in for HP, and lower backpressure that is.

Once I tuned it down to increase low-end torque, it went away.

I thought the smooth bore carbs work more like an on/off switch(well maybe not that extreme).

When I got the bike(25years ago)it had no baffle and vm29's.Then I put in bigger intakes, and vm33's.same flat spot.I just fabbed up a baffle and the flat spot is still there but it moved down in rpm.I'm just not sure if it move down due to the baffle or carb jetting changes ? I'll have to try pulling the baffle again next spring and see what happens.

Not just "up-ing my post count, but there was something a little bit back where someone had added those to their bike, and had the on/off switch ridability. I might be wrong, and someone please correct me if I am. Ask Wiredgeorge, as he seems to be the Carb King.

I havent heard that one before. It does make sence that they may move the power band up a little. But you also get a lot more power.
