Machining crank

Is it posible to cut the keyway longer on a 76 kz900 crank and re-drill the rotor bolt hole larger? I sheared the key on my rotor. The inside of the rotor is scored bad so Im getting another. The end of the crank has minor scores. So I want to machine the crank to hold the rotor better. What do you think?
