Valve cover differences

I have some early valve covers here and some of them have a lip on the bottom edge and some of them don't...anyone know what years the different styles were used on? Is one style more desirable than the other?
1980 LTD (changed over the years), 1979 LTD (being rebuilt), 1977 KZ turbo and various KZ's in various states of build. KLX110

N-N-O-O-O! Will those fit? Would make the bike stand out! Z1 valve covers...maybe KZ900(?). Didn't realize there were differences until I noticed it...was just wondering if I have valuable parts here and I can start getting ready for retirement!
