Can I remowe the exhaust crossover pipe on a 750 LTD Twin or will the bike run poor if I do so? What is the funktion of it?

I have it on one of my twins, not on the other. I suppose it was important to the designers, but I haven't actually seen any problem without it...

I believe it was there for balancing pressure between the cylinders....

It was stock, so of course Ron recommends you keep it... ;)

I am wondering about this topic for a 750 four also.
With possibly welding in straight pipes after removal of the megaphones. Any input?
