i have a 83 kz750 spectre and when i got the bike i had no leaks. but since a few oil changes and about 3000 miles this summer its now leaking from where the foot lever gooes into the shifter. i have taken off the cover and cleaned it all up and made sure were the leak was coming from. i was wondering if this is a job for someone to do at home or should i take it to a shop?

Just changed this seal on mine. You can actually do it without removing the cover. I just used a screwdriver to pull the old one out, screwed it up good but it was bad anyhow. You can then tap the new one into place and say goodbuy to the leak.

Dont forget to put some oil on the inner ruber seal part so you dont damage it while installing it.
