I think what you're asking about is the MAC 4-2 with turnouts as shown in
this eBay auction
.
Probably as good as any. While the auction claims that no jetting is necessary, you'll still want to do plug checks.

looks similar at least, would i be better in trying to find the cross over version, it trying to have som 4-4 pipes made up? even though i have no idea where to get any made here in phx, but should be able to us the first 1-2 fet of the stock pipes and have them sent back the way i want them right? exhaust will be the last thing i do and that the most important thing to me as long as the bike runs!
any opinions much appreciated

i think i have the same system thats in your link up top there. its painted black now because it was starting to rust. it dont sound bad though and id buy another one if it came to that. the e bay link looks like a slightly different setup but probably works the same. i like the 2 into ones also and doubt id ever go with a single outlet just because of the way it looks...steve

i'm at 43rd ave and bethany home, i got my bike from a guy at 39th just south of happy valley, lol, small world, I saw a kz650 for sale in the east valeey, needs very minor work, but don't have the 1600 the guy is asking, all i'd need to do to have it done is extend the swing arm and get different exhausts
can anyone give me an opinion on a 4-4 setup, anyone using one on a 650? i've seen some on others, any aftermarket ones made up? would i have to have custom ones made?
as far as the 4-2 go I want something a bit different so i'd probably end up modifying whatever i got unless it costs too much then i am not gonna cut into it

All of the stock KZ650 exhaust systems were four into two with a crossover under the engine. The 650SR (KZ650D) had a criss-cross pattern to the pipes up front resulting in 1 & 4 feeding the left muffler and 2 & 3 feeding the right muffler. It still retained the under engine crossover.
