I found a case on ebay for $50, but its a kz650sr, is it the same case?

Yes an "SR"cases will work the SR is different options on the chassis and wheels.Good luck.

By the way if you were closer to chicago there is a guy I know who has a few complete engines for real reasonable prices.

I prefer to build one to learn, plus i don't have the money right now, figure i'll end up piecing it together, that way i know what was done exactly
