my zl1000 has an oval ding down behind the front wheel. 3" long, maybe an inch wide, 1/2" deep. opinions on performance losses? is it possible or worth it to cut the offending section out and repair it? i want to keep the stock setup. been looking a bit for a used replacement. anybody have experience with repair?

I'd leave it alone unless you find a complete used exhaust system in otherwise comparable or better condition if the appearance of this ding bothers you a lot. I wouldn't worry about performance issues..if any imbalaces develop, you could always ding the other pipes in the same manner. :P

Jeff,
It won't cause any loss of performance.
