Does alttitude have anything to do with adjusting
valves or is it just good maintenance. What I am getting at is, just because I live at about 10,000 ft. do I need to readjust the valves, or is it just good to do after so much time?

Valve clearance is to allow for heat expansion so altitude has nothing to do with it.

If you operate the bike routinely at 10K feet, you will need to rejet the carburetors. The air is thinner at that altitude (as you darn well already know bwhwhahaha) and the jetting needs to be leaned out (smaller jets) so that the proper air/fuel mix can be maintained.
