Lag in throttle

Okay the bottom of this page is a video on Facebook show my concerns my kz1100 D1 specter.

I rebuilt the top end now I got a lag in the throttle smoke coming out the right pipe more than anything else and my question basically is if the exhaust cam is one off will it produce these problems that I'm going to show you in the video

I have my brother do it put the line up top dead center and he might have put it on the other line I didn't want to post that on Facebook cuz he looks at my posts LOL

but if you could take the time and look at the video and think of that cam exhaust might be one out can you let me know thank you.

It certainly doesn't sound happy, if you have any doubt ref the timing then re-check it. Also have you synced the carbs ? timing won't cause it to smoke but I wouldn't worry about that until it has had a good run to burn off assembly lube.

I would have thought assembly Lube would have been burned up by now like an hour of riding. Yeah you also heard it without the hose going from the airbox to the reeds that didn't make it sound good either. I put that back on oil is what I'm thinking mostly one side but we'll see yeah I'm thinking I'm off a tooth on the exhaust cam I'm not going to do it today though but yeah and high speed she runs fine she wants to maybe I got them who knows but she wants a Haul ass now.

I'll keep you updated when I get to it now I have a worry maybe they're setting it in the tank because I got three quarters of a tank and she died just now I put it on reserve around a little while and that died but when I put it on primary she stayed running.

and I did take heed to what you said last year that you will wind up putting a lot of money into these damn bikes and damn if I'm not but when you love something like this you kind of don't care a little bit

So it dies after a short time with the petcock on Run or on Reserve, but seems to run fine on Prime. Is the vacuum hose from the petcock to carb #2 missing, cracked or disconnected?  If it is in place and not leaking, then it is likely that the diaphragm in the petcock has failed. Any of these will make the engine run poorly.
