Hi,
Sometimes it's better to remove the entire timing chain tensioner (2 x M6 bolts to the cylinder) than just unscrewing the tensioning screw. (Because this M6 locking screw is sometimes slightly "squashed" in the front area, and thus, if completely unscrewed, the internal thread in the aluminum housing can be irreversibly damaged.)

Greetings, Joe

David pay heed to what Joe said. That adjuster bolt isn't, shouldn't be a standard fare bolt. It's machined at the thread end as shown. Too much adjusting can distort the threads at the end making it hard to fully remove and buggering-up the tensioner housing threads on the way out. Just loosen the nut and "slightly" move the bolt. This taking advantage of it being still mounted. You will want to do an adjust after reassembly of course. Those brushes. I always just but Honda, they are sold as a set and exacty the same thing as Kawasaki's offering. Honda nor Kawasaki made the starters, Mitsuba made them. Why buy two expensive Kawasaki bags, Kawasaki sold them individually, when you can just BOGO it with Honda. Don't buy aftermarket brushes!! They are all too often a softer material and NOT up the task. Honda part # 31201-292-158,
Kawasaki part# 21039-003
