2 stroke ignition advance question

My KE100 has no ignition advance. Ignition timing is the same at all RPMs. Is this a common 2 stroke thing, or was Kawasaki saving some money by not including an advance and just setting ignition timing at a compromise value? Since this bike spends most of its riding time at high RPMs, would it hurt to set timing above specs?
Lastly, any recommendations on a 2-stroke technical  forum that would cover KE100 matters?

It's a common 2 stroke thing and unless you are tuning the engine don't mess with the factory timing specs..
 

Ditto 1015's comments, leave it factory. Unless you have the knowledge and ability to "port map" the cylinder transfer ports, you're starting with a rotary induction low performance machine to start with, don't waste resources. I have a collection of literature and easily attainable on your behalf too. There will either be BTDC degrees timing procedure or a mark on case next to the rotor. 6.5 hp isn't enough for you, ha. These old two-strokes last a long time if ridden as intended my Friend, just have fun and relive the days when you wanted one when you were a kid!
