The oil level must be checked with the motorcycle on the center stand, not the side stand. The engine must be off for several minutes before checking. I usually let it sit overnight.
If the proper procedure is used, and the amount of oil coming out is more than you put in, then there is a leaking carburetor that is allowing fuel to drip into the engine when it is not running. The fuel will run past the piston rings, into the crankcase. If this happens, he petcock and carburetors need to be carefully cleaned and reassembled with new gaskets and orings, and the contaminated oil and filter need to be removed and replaced.
There is no need for a high idle or removing the engine.
