Hello. Installing 1000RX cylinders on a 900 is no good. The stroke isn't the same (+3mm). You have to machine a shim under the cylinder block and install it with two base gaskets. It's complicated. The cylinder head is the same for both bikes.
I have a 900. I installed all the 1000RX parts in the 900 engine cases. Be careful with the crankshaft bearing clearances, which must be perfect.
The gearbox is identical, as is the oil pump. You need to install a starter freewheel, an alternator shaft with its chain and ZRX tensioner.

That is really interesting, the 900 and the 1000 both have a 74.00mm bore so the capacity difference must come from the stroke (swept volume) not the cylinder. Could you put a 1000 crank, rods and pistons in the stock 900 top end to get the 1000cc ?

This Is what i want to do! But if this Need to replace too many other parts i think its not so conveniente ...

Seems to me that a 75mm Wiseco kit for the 900 would put you at 973cc against the 1000 at 997cc without the hassle :)

No, you're making a mistake. GPZ900R = 72.5 x 55 GPZ1000RX = 74 x 58 Cylinder head, gearbox, crankcase, pumps, starter, and alternator are identical. Cylinder block, pistons, crankshaft, and clutches are different. The first 1000RXs had an alternator chain identical to the 900s = 7 plates. Then the chain became wider on all 1000, 1100, and 1200 models (9 plates). I can do a complete file, but it'll take time 😄. I'm doing the French-English translation with Google (Gueugueule as we say here).

Don't forget to include the balancer in the parts mix if you're using the 1000RX crankshaft. It's different from the 900's. The camshafts are identical on both machines. The 1000 Competition and RX models are the same. Only the camshafts and carburetors are different. And the gearbox output, of course. The RX engine vs. the GPZ900 is more powerful but less "pointu"( nervous ). The torque is greater, and it transforms the bike. But you lose the special character of the 900. That's all you can do without resorting to a complicated and expensive rebuild. It already costs money to rebuild an engine
