I used 1" OD 6061 and just left them solid for my engine spacers.
Funny how the J motor got rid of the rear lower mounts, but the 750 Zep and ZR7 lost the front lower mounts. Maybe the stress output due to the stroke differences?
I guess you would have to be sitting in the Casting/CAE design meeting to find out
