engine identification ZN1100 or KZ1100

Can any one tell me if there were any Kz1100 LTD's in 1985 or was there just the ZN1100 LTD that year?

I am trying to get a cylinder head off a 1985 ZN1100 motor. Do not want to make a mistake with the 1985 KZ1100 version if they exist.

Please help I don't want to make a mistake.

The last KZ 1100LTD was in 1983.

Evenso, the heads may be interchangeable. They certainly share quite a few parts.

I think this is what he’s after.

This is copy and paste from a performance article written by Larry Cavanaugh

“It’s worth noting that the 84 & 85 LTD 1100 also received the same basic cylinder head as the GPz11 got in 83.”

So if Tex is correct then Richard your on the hunt for a ZN1100. I have also seen them listed as 1100 LTD. The 700 and 1100 are very, very similar in appearance. I have noticed the 1100 has “Kawasaki” cast into the clutch cover and the 700 is naked.

Thanks Guys that was very helpful.
Looks like it is the right motor for me to use it's cylinder head with my 83 GPZ.
