Starter clutch assessment

Guys, need help. Here is what I have, see pics. Rollers in great shape. No really visible lines and doesn't feel by finger. Gear does have ridges and I can feel with a finger. Motorcycle has 26k on it. Before I took it apart starter was running good. Should this gear be replaced? I read rollers wear out, but maybe they were replaced already?
Also, this gear has some wobble in it. Normal? Should needle bearing be replaced?

I'd install new rollers and springs just because, and let the gear ride until you get slipping.

Mine was good before I did the rebuild but started slipping the next year. You would need to remove the pan and tear into it that way if you decide to wait and it gives you trouble. I removed the motor again to do it but the bike can be hung by the rafters or laying it on its side to get to it I've seen. New rollers and springs for sure.......... I replaced the housing and the gear too but just the gear would a probably done it. I replaced the bearing too and it stopped most of the wobble but still had a tiny bit. Was only 10 bucks then so I grabbed it.

New ones from Kawasaki may still be available. I would check Ron Ayers and Partzilla.

It would help the rest of us to give better advice if you would put the year and exact model of your motorcycle in the signature line. That way, it will show up in every post you make automatically, and old duffers like me would not have to memorize that info.

Done. Added to sig :)

This is what I found so far, but it's universal kit, not Kawasaki

That assembly was used on a lot of Kawasaki and Suzuki models.

New from Kawasaki

Also available from Ron Ayers, but you will have to look it up under one of the newer models.

What bothers me that visually gear race has more wear than actual clutch mechanism

You talking about #9 (the one way clutch assembly).......... if so mine was worn pretty good and after tearing it apart again I wanted it to be the last time so I replaced that along with the gear. It came assembled with rollers, springs and pins so don't buy both before you check....... Good job on the gear pic Injected too..... Ed usually puts one up and was waiting for him........
