Exhaust leak

Ive got a 1975 KZ 400D.
So my exhaust seems to be the 2 piece design and is leaking at the block and where the mufflers slips on. Ive got new gaskets on the way as well as red permatex for the block. But is there supposed to be a clamp in the center section?

When you say block, are you planning to put sealer between the head pipes and the cylinder head?
If so, I hope you can be persuaded otherwise. Nothing is needed there except a new crush washer.

I think i may just use it to help seal the middle connection. It was just slid together. Do i may use some sealant and a clamp

Looks like you have a pretty prodigious oil leak, too.
