Modified top idler.

I have a few top idlers about and the rubber on and in them has gone very hard and is breaking up which is probably also happening inside the motor as well, the previous owner replaced the ones in the lower end around ten years ago but not the top, Zed1015 made some a few years ago, so i thought i would have a go myself, so today i deconstructed an old one and made up a brass ring to go where the rubber went, i am happy with the result even though it's around 15 grams heavier, will put it in during the winter if i have not made a lighter one by then.

I like to open the engine up once every 40 years or so...to marvel at how well built they were!
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.
