Could get away with new valves and seals as long as the seats aren't too large. 2mm is the limit. I ran mine a little larger on the intakes but the exhausts were right in there when I "tipped" the valves. The guides were a little sloppy. I should have installed new seals.
Try not to laugh too hard.
BTW I'm running this head today. :woohoo:

Same head just larger exhaust studs. M 6 helicoils fit in perfect so I can use my Z1 studs. Seats and guides are perfect just a broken fin. I have a thread on it.

Did you block the emissions ports?
I'd kinda like to figure out how. I've got a euro cylinder head cover for it.

Tap the passageways just a little way down, and install some grub screws.

The early KZ1000's didn't have emissions. Some tap and use a grub screw to block off the ports on the later ones. If you're going two piece I suggest using a OEM O ring. The aftermarket ones get hard and split.

Looks like the cam height is out of spec. Strangely they're all just about 36.27. Not even close and journals are 24.47 and 24.46 not much left there.
This things worn out.
Need a complete set of valves too. 32 and 37mm
Should I give it a little more juice while I'm doing it?
Where can I find new ones?

Scrapping the base gasket off is a multi day chore. Making progress though. Still need to get a full set of valves and new to me
cams.

Yep thems APE red valve seals. See center of last photo. Just dropped too much money on new valves. Think the cams will be ok for now. Pistons spec. Waiting on bore gauge. Look like new rings and a very light hone would work. Once I get the rest of the base gasket off. Really glued on thick to the case.
