How much oil consumtion is normal?
1981 KZ650-D4, with 1981 z750L engine (Wiensco 810 big bore).

max. 0,5 Liter on 1000 Kilometer is a good value.
Some engine need more or less oil, it´s dependent of the hand on the throttle grip.

Back from weekend trip, 770km and approx. 0,15-0,2 liter, that is withing accepted limits than ?
Something else would be strange since the borr, pistons and rings was new last season.
1981 KZ650-D4, with 1981 z750L engine (Wiensco 810 big bore).

That´s a good value, it´s a average consumtion of 0,5 Liter on 2000 Km.

Based upon these numbers, my engine is long past-due for a ring-job.

Though I admit, my right hand normally twists the throttle beyond reason...somewhat.

Haha are you saying I’m to gentle with the throotle? :)

I don’t take the engine up to red area, but are not doing «sundays driving :)

I read somewhere that KHI noticed the bikes made more HP on the dyno after the endurance races, due to the engines wearing in, and rings seating / sealing better. If that's the case, it stands to reason why my bike runs so freakin strong now. It seems that I grab a tad bit more than a handful at times. :woohoo:
