Engine ID

Just picked up my first kz and trying to learn a little about it. It’s an 81 Kz1000 Ltd. first question before I start ordering parts is the engine code. It reads kzt00JE033378
Now looking at Zedder.com I’m getting this iis out of an 82 model? If so is there anything different I should be looking for when I start to order up parts?

Mostly the same, though the clutch release mechanism was changed in 1982.

You should order parts based on your frame serial number. You can find it on a white sticker on the neck. It's also stamped into the neck.

Unless it was a leftover 1981 frame and a really early 1982 engine, or if the engine is not original to the bike.
