The bike in my signature is the girls bike. I’m always helping her out as it’s always got problems and she does a helluva lot more mileage than I do!!

Anyway, good news to report,I think I’ve found a fix for the oil leak. I machined a piece of hdpe rod to fit over the gearchange shaft and fit between the engine case and the inside of the cover,I then machined enough out of the engine case end to locate an o ring. When the case is bolted up it holds the rod and o ring up against the seal in the crank case. I didn’t bother putting a new seal in as it only lasts 2 weeks before leaking. She’s done 2 trips so far,50 and 200 miles, and it’s not leaking. I’ll measure/take pics next time the case is off in case anyone needs it. Even if it only lasts a couple of months it’s better than a £4 seal and losing a load of oil.

Sounds like a good solution. If you have time some photos would be great, it's always good to have solutions on the forum for future reference.
