It's toast! Pulled the head off tonight and the number 3 has a 1" hole in it and a valve welded to the top of it! This SUCKS!!!

Wiseco 810 kit and a head from eBay should solve the problem, got about $650 you can spare??
Depending on how many miles the motor has on it, you may be able to get away with a used piston and a set of new rings with a cylinder hone, along with a used head, and that would be cheaper.
Used KZ750 motors can be found for ~$250 also.

I'm thinking I might just part it out. Which makes me cringe, I just bought a V&H 4-1 and rode the thing maybe 4 times this years. Maybe I'll look around for an entire engine though. I've got a place I can check out called RicePaddy in Columbus. Who knows maybe I'll get lucky, which doesn't happen too often.

Are you talking about the ones with a $349 starting bid and a $399 BIN? I bout fell out of my chair laughing, I can get a Wiseco 810 kit cheaper and it even includes a head gasket   :laugh:I think I saw some stock 750-4 pistons on ebay last night, check it out.

Nah not those. I guess it was the 650 pistons I saw instead.

Yea, I looked for pistons and complete top end but no joy. Maybe my luck will turn. I think I'll just take the whole thing apart. I'll post some pics of the piston that has an exhaust valve welded to the top if anyone would like to see what a lost cause is!
