My wild guess at this point for the carb at hand is that the pilot screw is a pilot air screw as opposed to a pilot fuel mixture screw.

Could try turning the pilot air screw 1/2 turn clockwise to enrichen the pilot circuit, and do a test ride.

If the condition worsens, try turning the pilot air screw counter-clockwise 1/2 turn back to where it was, and then turn it an additional 1/2 turn counter-clockwise, and do a test ride.

Am uncertain as to whether or not the following diagram is of the carb at hand.

Good Fortune! :)

Here is what I suggest. Its likely an intake boot leak. Run the bike and spray WD 40 on the boots boots and if the idle changes its sucking up the WD 40 which will ignite. This means you will have to remove the boot and clean surface and use 3 bond case sealer on both surfaces replace and let sit overnight. Carefully look at the boot to make sure it has no deep cracks, minor ones are o.k

To each their own but I'd replace the boots straight away if I saw ANY cracks, even small ones.
