Rubber damper starter clutch?

What is the purpose of the rubber damper on the starter clutch of the KZ1000? They come in three sizes
and what would be the result if you ran the wrong size? Thanks......

Hello renomueller

The purpose is to prevent wobbling of the starter clutch gear ( production tolerances ).
