I've got about 10 miles on my new motor and 8 of them were at the drag strip
so I'll put up with a little more wear to keep the valve's from having sex with my new Wiseco pistons.
Exactly why I did it. Not like I'm racking up the miles on it or anything. I've already bent the valves once, and the APE springs where the same price as a new set of stockers.
I knew I'd be winding her up tight and didn't want to worry about floating valves.
Eventually, if $$ permits I'll get a set of drop in cams and I won't have to worry about the springs.

When I had APE do my heads I had em installed too....... I talked to Jay and paid the extra 50 bucks for them to set the spring length for a little less tension than all out it was either from 90 to 80 lbs or 10% less...... I need to email em and ask for sure since I can't recall but I guess its really about the same anyway.
I only went with the slightly warmer 750 cams but am thinking a set of .365 cams or GPZ cams are still not outta the question and I wanta be ready.

Haven't been back to KZR in a while, but they worked out fine. Without a before and after dyno it's hard to give you real numbers. Plus I ported the heads and boosted the compression a tiny bit.
No where near the gains of even the mildest drop in cams. You only pick up 8 degrees of duration and .31 lift on the exhaust side.
But it's cheap and I had it all apart anyway. I think I paid $20 for a stock intake cam.
