Sidewinder header.
14 Apr 2012 20:50
No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationSince nobody makes a pipe for my old kz I think
I'm gonna get one of these cut to fit sidewinder kits.
At that price I can't build one so I'll cut the head pipes
then fab to fit.
I could get a pipe made but I have under $1500
in this bike I ain't spendin just as much for a pipe.

Looks like MAC makes one that is a bolt on fit with no mods and has a street legal baffle. Probably needs no jetting changes.
www.macperformance.com/store/product1.cfm?SID=3&Product_ID=518
Retail price is $300 which means you can probably find a new one on ebay for about $225.

Cut that vance and hines up to make you one, got to be of better quality than they can do.
You might also consider putting your bike in your signature, helps others determine just what you working with when asking questions, otherwise I'm assuming your working with a KZ1000 but that's just me.

20 plus years ago I had a vance and hines on an 81 Ltd 750, now that was a good pipe, fit and finish. It wasn't a sidewinder thou. You can still get a Kerker I believe, still my favorite pipe, but again, goes under, not to the side.

The whole deal is I can't lower the bike
any more with the pipe under the damn thing.
With the gpz swing arm the front need's to come down
but the pipes in the way.

Dave, you could get creative with that pipe once you cut the collector off a few inches in front of the mating point. Depending on how good you are at cutting and welding exhaust pipe, I can see a sidewinder made out of that pipe.
There is a guy on here that build pipes, he may be able to throw some pointers your way.

This pipe ain't worth cuttin up for parts
to build a pipe.
Bang for the buck says cut this one
and make it fit my head.
Do it as a step header and it should
work with the 810cc, cams, head work
and the 50 shot thats coming.
